You can claim anything.  Clarks make a mean desert boot.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Re: Desert boots

Comparble to Clarks then. I'd give em a go. Clarks aren't what they were but what is? 10 1/5 the fawn ones next to the green if he's looking for some stateside product placement.

Poor compared to the hushpuppies of the the early eighties in cream brown and that grey/blue.

Re: Desert boots

I'd be very interested to know why they are the best desert boots ever.

I've had more desert boots than wanks. Nearly bought some burgundy ish ones the other day but decided against it. Verging too much on plum and I was purely buying cos it's a colour I've never had then realised they were fuckin awful.

I've had plenty of clarks, ask the missus from office, Frank Wright,  lambretta,  Ben sherman, hackett., pretty green.... the list goes on.

Fact is they appear no different at all whether I've paid 25 quid or 100 quid. Desi boots only look good for so long due to the material. I'll only buy an expensive pair if they are half price or summat.

Last year on a recommendation from this site I bought some veras. Really liked em but they were very poor. Never had a pair of boots last such a short time.

Re: Desert boots

It's not a dig tt, that's a bold statement there tho. I buy a pair, I spray them with protector, I wear them, I like them, they don't last. I'm fine with that. No desert boots last unless you wear them purely inside and only step on deep shag pile carpets.

I know, I asked the same question ...

Mine didn't last the summer either. The actual crepe bit of the sole was only a few millimetres thick, wore through in no time. Piss poor quality for the price. Apols.

Yep. The soles just disintegrated  quick style. First time I wore them walking round Leeds I was an inch shorter when I got home.

Re: Desert boots

Anyone see the Clarks anniversary edition?

Bit of a social media hoo har.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ … -boot.html

You would never know but they got the 'help' of some bloke who makes boxes, a US influenced sports label and a UK based clothing brand.

Anyhoo - I think the majority of the hoo har was over the price at two hundred and fifty shitters.

Re: Desert boots

Lot of money for an orange stripe.

I like the look of those Astroflex. Clarks are getting gradually more and more expensive.

Re: Desert boots

Local cobbler could put an orange stich round the sole for a few bob if you were mythered.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Re: Desert boots

I got some very nice handmade boys from a charridy shop for £10.  Proper sole not gummy and Google tells me they would have bee over £200.  Sweet charridy.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Re: Desert boots

Clarks have an online outlet now (you can search by size, which is useful)

I still love my Astorflex. They fit around your foot (hence the name, I suppose).

Look at them. Woof.

They are nice ay they.

I prefer the Desert Kahn and Desert London Clarks do if I'm honest.  Basically desert boot lows.
