Re: Should we stay or should we go?

I was shocked this morning to see Brexit won

And a little bit saddened

I went upstairs to wake the boys and gave them a hug as usual - this one was a little bit longer and a little bit tighter.  Times of change you think about your kids and what impact it will have on them

As the day has gone on I've become a little more rational about it all.  Whatever happens we'll sort it out.  We're not going to end up a 3rd World country.  Might be a little bit bumpy for a while but things will stabilise

I have my positive head on today

You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence is not an event - it is a habit.

Re: Should we stay or should we go?

Just like after the last election and social media exploded telling us all how bad things were going to get - and none of that shit actually happened.  Now the apocolypse is happening again.

I predict that not a fucking lot will change.  Some will do a bit better.  Some will do a bit worse.  But mostly, shit will be the same as it always was.  Perhaps in a few decades the French will want to join our club and we can tell them "Non!"

Fuck them.
Fuck them all.

Oh yeah.... Last night deadbloke tweeted that Brexit was running at 8/1.  If anyone knows him in real life please thank him.  I put a little something on it and now it's paid for next weeks trip to a beer festival.

Forgot to add....  I still don't think it's going to happen to be honest.

Ladbrokes last night at 11pm offered 9/1. Wish I'd had a dabble.

Imagine being Polish. And working here, paying your taxes etc. And having to listen to the leave lot banging on about 'getting their country back' when all you've done is work hard and pay your fucking way.
And imagine people talking about telling the French 'non'.

Loads changed after the last election, just because you didn't fucking see it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And it will happen again. You'll probably miss it again.

Nice one. Betfair had Leave at 14/1 at one point. I was too cowardly to take that but got on at 7/1 so that sweetened the pill. Still a God awful day for the UK mind.

Re: Should we stay or should we go?

I feel sorry for those poor leave supporters who expect their towns and villages to return to Trumpton-esque status which of course was never going to happen and they are going to be very very miffed when they realise they were lied to about the ability to control immigration and getting their country back once we are out of the EU and that they have gambled instead the country’s fragile economy for nothing and don’t try and tell me they were really worried about anything other than immigration, such as been told what to do by an un-elected body or they would have been a referendum on the future of the house of lords years ago.
I’m no great fan of the EU but I would have preferred to stay in and fight our corner rather than now being told what we will have to do to trade within the euro zone.
And yes everything may well turn out for the best but we just don’t know. I just don’t feel it was worth the gamble as I don’t see what we stand to gain from leaving we will still have immigration we will still have to pay in some form or other to trade with the EU and we start from a base position with trade agreements with the rest of the world.
My boss is happy as he feels he will now have more freedom to run his business the way he wants which is a worry as this is the same boss who refused to pay for fire extinguishers as he thinks it is worth the gamble as he is pretty sure we will never have a fire.

I thought we as a country were skint but no we just found £250 billion to prop up the financial system.
How many hospitals could that have built  not that anyone really cares as long as we don't have to hear foreign voices on the high street!!

Do you honestly believe that this is about racism?  That you live in a country where 52% of the voters are racists?

No. But fucking boatloads of them are. And those that aren't still have to live with the consequences of the decision they took. And alienating normal decent people who just came here for a better life is one of them.

Re: Should we stay or should we go?

Well, so far, out of the dozen or so people that I know that voted leave, only one has not sighted "immigration" as their main reason for voting in such a way. This particular bloke works in  the finance and management end of commercial agriculture and came forward with a number of good reasons to get out. There are rules on production and quotas which, if ignored/disregarded can result in pretty stiff fines. A number of UK farmers have fallen foul of this but he says he's never heard of a French or Italian farmer getting done for exceeding production quotas. And then there's the bureaucracy........

The insurgency began.................and you missed it.

Re: Should we stay or should we go?

Another pro Remain mate of mine mine posted this on FB...

Right. Fuck this. We're ALL up shit creek and we need a paddle. Now, not in three months.

Fellow Remain voters: Enough already. Yes, we're all pissed off but navel gazing ain't gonna help. Not all 17 million Leave voters can possibly be racist northern pensioners without an O level to their name. Maybe they have a point about this quitting the EU thing? Maybe not. Whatever, we are where we are and no amount a whinging is gonna change that. Allegedly we're the intelligent ones, so get your thinking caps on.

Leave voters. Well done. Good game. We hear you. Now you need to get stuck in to the aftermath and not just piss off back to Wetherspoons. (Just banter, twats!). And the first person to say they "want their country back" gets deported to fucking Gibraltar. OK?

Politicians.

David. Fuck off. Shut the door behind you. Now.

George. You may be a twat but you're our twat. Plus you know the passwords for our Junior Savers account. Get your calculator. Drop the face-like-a-slapped-ass routine. You're on.

Boris. Sorry mate. That photo of you abseiling by your scrotum over the London Olympics while waving a Union Jack can't ever be un-taken. Plus, you'll never be able to appear on Question Time again without some sturdy Glaswegian nurse asking where the fuck her 350 million quid is. Not only will she have a very good point, she'll be wearing a T shirt that shows you gurning in front of that fucking bus! No captains hat for you I'm afraid.

Theresa. You're in charge love. Get the biggest shoulder pads you've got. We need Ming The Merciless in drag and you'll scare the shit out of 'em.

Nicola. Yep. Fair cop. You probably could get us on a technicality, as could London. But we fucking love shortbread. And oil. And to be honest you're probably the best politician we've got, so we need you on side. Sort your lot out and we promise never to mention that Jimmy Krankie thing again (although it is pretty uncanny) and we'll make you a Dame once we're sorted. Bring Ruth Davidson. She kicks ass.

Opposition party. We'll need one. Someone take Jeremy and John back to the British Legion Club where you found them. Take Nigel as well. Give back their sandals, buy them a pint, then go to Heathrow and collect David Milliband. Fuck it. Lets gets Ed Balls as well. He keeps George on his toes. I think he works on the lottery kiosk at Morrisons now?

Oh. And Mark Carney. Give him a knighthood and tell him to keep that shit coming. We definitely need more of that good shit!

Everyone set? Right. Hold the Easyjet. We're going to Brussels and this ain't no hen party.
