Re: Wendies (a)

Weds manager may have got the chop today, if we'd won.. Started off well. but as soon as we went behind, that was it. That fucking midfield, is so weak mentally + physically. It's where most of the problems are stemming from.. Fucking Phillips. get him out ! Keeper looks out of his depth !! There is talent going fwd. Saiz looks a player, but that nidfield needs sorting !
Good time for the Int break, + we are still handily placed/

Got more soul, than a sock with a hole.

On the plus side, your manager/head coach had got a lovely bit of moncler on. I was moved to text a mate, and say 'Are you watching wednesday v leeds? The leeds manager has got a lovely bit of moncler on'.

Re: Wendies (a)

If we’d of got a goal in them first few minutes when we started so brightly, it could of been so different. This is getting to be a trend , great for 15/20 minuets, then go to pieces. Keeper for them first 2 goals might as well been sat by me , he’s way off what we need in nets .
Was sat with wendies and had to stay till the end .

To stand aside is to take sides.

4 or 5 of their shit houses have plenty of talent but can't be arsed against other teams.  Just us.

We were shit though.  TC needs to have words with folk, including himself.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Re: Wendies (a)

I appreciate the fact it is a new team, but honestly that was a very unfair scoreline on the Wendies. It should have been 5-0 as  an absolute minimum. When you get turned over like that, it is easy to fall into darkest of dark blackness.. There's still a lot of work to do it seems.

Why they got rid of Green is beyond me, one of our best players last year. You will never get a truly strong centre-half pairing without a truly strong keeper behind them. I am not saying they played well defensively, but a shit keeper unnerves the hell out of a defender.

I mentioned this last night when watching the game. Wiedwaldt shits it. Most decent goalkeepers tend to have a screw loose, they come for anything, and if they get hurt, they get hurt. Ours on the other hand doesn't fall into the 'brave' category.

Re: Wendies (a)

Coulda, shoulda been about 7-2. You had some decent chances but made the wrong choice. The lad with the bad peroxide job being the worst culprit. Awful offside call for their goal & how fletcher missed that header only he knows. The daft thing is though, i reckon if you'd scored early doors with that headed chance on the break, they'd have collapsed. Your keeper looks sunday league level.

The commentator said that there'd been a marked drop off in your performance stats in the last three games, tiredness creeping in? Maybe the international break will allow batteries to be recharged?

Re: Wendies (a)

Good points about the keeper but Green got some stick early doors last season with it being noted that he made more mistakes that led to goals than any other keeper.

The defending for the goals was pathetic  before our five a side goalkeeper was exposed for his indecisiveness .

Leeds were shit all over the pitch. This will result in supporter impatience, meltdown and the usual these players are not good enough to play for Leeds while forums yearn for players who understand what it is like to be Leeds.

I have no idea whether new man is any good, whether they're his players and whether in these early days he knows what he wants to do but the last two excepted I have enjoyed the games this season.

Sadly I doubt he'll be allowed to run his course by an increasingly impatient and unrealistic fanbase.

I have never used the word fanbase before!

As for playing it out of defence, I watched manu the other day and their defenders launched it long most of the time in a Wimbledonian style. I suspect it'll catch on.

Re: Wendies (a)

We need a right, hard 'orrible c*nt in the middle of the park. Howard Wilkinson recognised this hence brought in Vinnie Jones, he was a giant in the team, not for his football but for his affect on the other players. They played without fear with him in the team. Other teams hated playing against him, because there was a slim chance he would finish your career. Like a fox in the chicken pen. You talk about smart signings, that was one of the best of them all in my opinion.

I always like to see it from front to back, swines in the spine. A mouthy confident keeper, who'll happily take out anyone to get the ball, a commanding vocal cb, a domineering cm and a robust cf. Doesn't have to be dirty, but should be able to mix it. All the best teams have 'em. Maybe not as starters, but at worst can be brought on when needed. I've said before on here (to  much riddicule) there has to be a command language between keeper and defenders, otherwise you're all at sea.

Totally agree with the latter. Last season of Green-Pontus-Bartley excelled precisely because of this point.

Oldest, but truest cliche in the game - You can't play football with your mouth shut. No information between players, especially in defence and you're fucked
