Topic: Happy New Year

Two beautiful kids. A Mrs I actually like. Both parents still here. Friends I've known for over 40 years. Paying the mortgage. Glass definitely more than half full.....

All the best to the OMJ congregation.....once again into the mystic folks.....

She’s the main man in the office in the city and she treats me like I’m just another lackey, but I can put a tennis racket up against my face and pretend that I am Kendo Nagasaki...

Re: Happy New Year

Nice words. Great track. Happy New Year OMJ.

Happy NY TB and all OMJ.  Keep the home fires burning.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Happy new year all, from what’s turned out to be sunny Malta. Of course the best weather is today, the day we leave.

To stand aside is to take sides.

Yes. All the best to all of you for 2018! Trump and May out, Leeds up, it could all be happening.

2018. Wishing you all health and happiness, at the OMJ think tank.

Happy new year to all - 2018 the year of a proper socialist government (not neoliberal tory lite bollocks stemming from that cunt Kinock) and Trump being made to look the cunt he actually is.

Mid table mediocrity from Forest and maybe i'll start buying clothes again.

What did people do last night?

I had an unsatisfying pint followed by a curry then was in bed at 12.05 reading.

Fresh as a daisy today.  Might have a pint and a cob later.

Went to the local Italian restaurant with the wife and daughter , huge new zealand green mussels with garlic , fillet rossini washed down with peroni and prossecco , the owner then did a 15/20min firework display at midnight , we all really enjoyed it

I'm just a symptom of the moral decay thats gnawing at the heart of the country

Re: Happy New Year

Green tipped mussels are the fucking don.  Nice.

That sounds a great night.  We took our 13 yo with us and he hated it.

I think next year I might find some where where we can stay the night - so to speak.  The curry house were edging us out the door after an hour as a queue was forming.

Re: Happy New Year

Stayed in on my own

On the 30th, a dozen of us went for a steak for my pals birthday. It's a custom we've done for years

There followed quite a big night and everyone piled back to mine when the pub wouldn't serve us any more.

Finished at 7am and I felt pretty savage late afternoon when I eventually surfaced.  Still feeling it a bit today if not a lot. Got to drag myself out to watch Leeds and then I'm having a dry January and getting back in the gym.

Happy New to eberyone

Stopped in, me and the lad watched a couple of Laurel and Hardy films and watched the fireworks at 12. Rock n roll.

Had 2 friends and their 2 boys round

We agreed the boys could see the New Year in (ours are 6 and 8 - similar ages to others) whihc was really lovely looking out at the fireworks with them

Managed to dispatch 10 bottles of wine between the 4 adults......

You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence is not an event - it is a habit.

Re: Happy New Year

Saw a few mins of Jools Holland, the one they record in July or something. JCIG grinning away in the background.

Re: Happy New Year

Having arrived back in HK on the 23rd I was still somewhat jetlagged on New Years Eve. Fortunately misses AHH had arranged for me to cater for a dinner party for five. My joy of course knew  no bounds when she added four more, two of them vegetarian in the 24 four hour run up. So, New years started early and included three shopping trips, endless prep and marinade, and then breathless coordination against late arrivals and early leavers. I fell asleep at 22:15 and had to be woken to see in the new year.

Ditto, but even if they weren't, then I doubt you would have wanted to venture out. It was close to zero Celsius down here, so goodness knows how many degrees minus it was up there north of the border. I couldn't believe the hordes braving it in NYC--what some will do for a party, eh?

The very slow drinking and eating did begin around midday though.

The Beat featuring Dave Walkley were interesting on JH.  That black lad leaping around was very annoying.
