Topic: Breton Tops

I am a bit of a sucker for a breton top.  Have had a fair few over the years.  I have pretty much arrived at an outfit or two I like and feel will wear till I die.  I like a nice pair of slim tapered selvedge, a Breton top and a dark navy shirt over the top.  Round it off with either docs, a pair of Derby shoes or pumps.

Just had this Armour Lux 2297 from End

Prefer Orcavil but they are piss take prices.

Anyway - yeah....I like Breton tops.

Re: Breton Tops

Mate you'd love all this Danton stuff that's getting knocked out over here as French workwear. I am a sucker for it too, cheap (ish) as well.

Re: Breton Tops

Yeah - love that Danton stuff, is that coat boiled wool?.  Not seen much over here but I have taken my eye of the ball last year or so.

Orcival is mint.  Really heavy duty with interesting colours.  Pisses over saint James and better than Armour Lux but expensive.  Mr Porter stock it in the UK.

It's a wool mix, 80 / 20 wool / polyester, but looks like boiled wool.

Is boiled wool actually a thing?

Like boiled sweets just fractionally woollier?

Yes, yes it is a thing.  It is like a felting process - it shrinks the wool to make it dense.  So in effect less wooly!  Unlike boiled sweets.

Surely it would make it more woolly and less 'airy'............more grammes of wool per cm cubed.........

Anyway,  I have a couple of jumpers like that - just unplanned
