I like the slightly de-tuned wobbly keys.

Is he a Madlib/J Dilla fan?

I don't really know LL, he plays loads of stuff, most of it I don't recognise. He loves Frank Ocean ad Odd Future, all that woozy psychedelic hip hop stuff.

Top stuff. Rudi Jr came racing through when I whacked it on - "Who's that? Sounds lit"

I believe "lit" is the modern equivalent of "acemans"

It's good when they're making stuff innit. Better than vandalism and road men nonsense.

Had me thinking of Dilla. Lot worse you can be influenced by.

She’s the main man in the office in the city and she treats me like I’m just another lackey, but I can put a tennis racket up against my face and pretend that I am Kendo Nagasaki...

Not sure if he likes battle rap, but Left Brain from Odd Future is on this 'watch' from Ruin Your Day (battle rap channel that I support through Patreon).

He probably knows more than me but I like Nottz stuff, Harry Fraud, Ninth Wonder and Apollo Brown. Some have been around for ages but are still producing good stuff, Pete Rock, Statik Selektah etc. So many good producers out there these days.
Been hammering this for a while now....the beat is, to adopt the vernacular, fire!

More power to him. Tell him to keep at it, find his own sound....

That Tunnel Vision track is cracking, really, really nice. Chapeau to the boy.

Re: Home-made electronica

Cheers all, he's got one track that's had over 10,000 plays; Fabled, Never Unstable.

And though it would be miserly of me to say his lyrics could be better, his keys are good.

Re: Home-made electronica

Rudi mon - put this on in the background sometime.

Bet he'll like the sound by the end of the track...

I love Boards of Canada, they're my writing music.

Cheers for the recommendations Travis, I'm reliant upon him and me daughter for new hip hop now, I haven't a clue.

This is what he's into at the minute.

he's just put on cup to go with it called "tea"

I like the non-precious attitude to it all.

When I used to 'follow' (from a distance) my lad, I remember him liking this album/artist; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everybody_(Logic_album)

Fucking mumble rappers..... wink

Then again, that's what Xanax will do to you. Purple drank y'heard.....

Can't get with so much of the new stuff tbh but that's just me showing my age to an extent.
That whole trap sound, a lot of the Chicago stuff, lazy beats and people who can't rap for shit. From Migos to Chief Keef. And then there's 61X9INE (google him). Sells records I guess but not for me.

Now this is hip hop......

Re: Home-made electronica

They probably know this LP but if they don't it's an absolute fucking classic. Should have been huge and for some reason wasn't....

Re: Home-made electronica

Soundcloud? Drank? Wobbly keys? Why can't the youth of today just furtively masturbate in their bedrooms? If it was good enough for me & my friends when we were younger, then it's certainly good enough for them. "I don't want to be a wanker, dad. I want to make music". I find it sickening. wink

Sounds like you need a platform to express these feelings, Misura.

Got a laptop?

Knock up some tunes.
