Re: Christiansen sacked

There`s very little available out there. Jokanović at Fulham would have been ideal, but no chance he`d come to us.
Pearson could start a fight in an empty room and although some of those cunts need a rocket up the arse, he fell out with Mel Morris, (Mr Candy Crush) at Derby, so he was never coming.

Grayson had his chance and Rowett won`t leave Derby, why would he.

Didn`t want McLaren or Stam, Silva would have been good (although he could be at Everton in a few months) but this is really an odd choice....apart from it is Leeds we are talking about. Oh and as stated, it will be cheap. We seem to like that. Over 30,000 for virtually every home league game, but spending money isn`t our thing.

TC will have been cheap too.

You`ve mentioned youth before Ted, who are these players?

Tyler Denton is on loan at P Vale
Coyle at Fleetwood (loan)
Wilks is at Grimsby (loan)

We just bought a bloke from Japan and sent him to Spain.
If we have a Lorimer, Giles, Currie or Batty in the youth team, they are keeping it very quiet.

I dont know Zico to be honest, but a couple of years ago we seemed to have a crop coming through. Leeds (the area)  has never been short of young talent
Maybe old fashioned but Id rather have hungry local youth with a couple of seasoned pros than journeymen foreigners who drift from pay cheque to pay cheque

They left mate

Charlie Taylor
Sam Byram (originally from Essex joined us at 12)
Lewis Cook (I was sorry about him leaving)
Mowatt (never lived up to portential, currently on loan at Oxford)

Maybe there are more local kids. I know this I will be amazed if Jay Roy Grot is the future.

I thought there was another batch after this lot. The top 3 were decent players and i get why they left. Mowatt as you say ...

until someone gets in, and I thought Redfearn was on the right path, and creates a playing system where everyone knows their role in a team composed of youth aided by some hard bastard seasoned pros and one bit of flair  then I cant see an end to it. Managers and players will keep coming an going until someone cleans the club out top to bottom... attitude, playing style, rebranding, the whole lot and if not then this is it until death or Saturdays at Home Hardware do us part
Good luck to Heckingbottom, Ive read only positive reviews from Barnsley fans.

In fairness, it does at a distance appear to be what Radz is trying to achieve, albeit with some cock-ups along the way (as we saw last week). Unfortunately, you need the expertise in the right places to do this properly. He, as Chairman, is clearly learning also, he has never run a football club before.

I assume by Heckingbottom will be bringing some of Barnsley's best players with him, well he would if they had any left....

Re: Christiansen sacked

Phillips , OKane and Viera. Are they not local youth ?
The main quality you miss with young players, is consistency. It’s all about blending them into a side and not over playing them. A lot of fans don’t have patience for this and expect 8 out 10 performances every game. It’s a hard task playing midfield in the championship at 19 week in week out.
Mowatt is a prime example, had a few very good games but couldn’t build to a consistent level of performance.

Double this

Re: Christiansen sacked

Oh come on...nobody wants him to fail do they?

There's a reason he's being cunted off, just look at his record.

It's a joke appointment in my eyes and ranks right up there with the Hockaday situation.

People were slagging off Strachan, McClaren and Grayson and personally I didn't particularly want any of those.
But what's Heckingbottom achieved that any of those haven't?

This is something you'd have expected from Cellino not Radrizanni so makes it even more disappointing to be honest.

I genuinely hope he succeeds,as everyone should and I'll be the first to come on here and eat humble pie if he does, but excuse me for not sharing the optimism.

It might have been a fuck up since Ridsdale but that doesnt stop fans getting on the players/ managers back... not going to help until they've have a fair crack, even if its obvious its going to end in tears.

Re: Christiansen sacked

I'd never knock any chancer taking the job, I even almost warmed to Evans.  I really despair though when we go cheap as it signals our compete lack of ambition.  We are a mod table Championship outfit in almost every way when it comes to money and it staggers me that there are no super rich wankers prepared to waste £200m on us like they do on other clubs.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.
