I would say M&S mate but possibly not in your manor.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Those Blue Harbour ones? They're not that great quality these days.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

They used to be ace quality but i've noticed a difference over the last couple of years. I think they changed supplier. A few months  and a few washes in and they are bobbled to fuck. 6 months down the line, little rips and holes appearing at the cuffs. I've written to Barry Took about this . Deeply disappointing.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Ditto that. It's hard enough as it is trying to dress like you did at 16 without having to experience quality issues.

Call me up in dreamland. Radio to me man.

I've got a merino one, had it ages, it's really thin and ever so splendid.  Not Blue Harbour, some more upscale line they have (or used to have).  Sartorial?  Signature?  Something anyway, the Blue Harbour stuff I thought was all cotton, yachting gubbins.

I'd offer you a beer, but I've only got six cans.

Autograph ?

I noticed they had some in the other day at £35 - is that the going rate now?

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Got a load of M&S jumpers when me dad died. Haven't had to buy a new one in years

Just checked.  Collezione.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Smedley are nice if they aren't too pricey these days.  Bit on the thin side though.

Thin seems to be the way these days.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

in NY... I'd say Uniqlo, I used to get all my merino knits from there, occasionally cashmere when they have it in.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Yep, Uniqlo, cheap as chips and the 2 I have are lasting - bit of pilling (is that a bad sign in lambswool or expected) but easy to remove - serves my OCD tendencies well. Merino ones also v good.

Snatching misery from the jaws of glory since, ooooooh, 1973?

Best value and quality jumpers on the market (made to Japanese consumer specs). Full stop. They used to have one in Manchester, but I am told it closed a while back. They have one in London though.

Isn’t lambs wool too itchy?

I stick to cotton on crew necks

I am just a common breed

Thanks champs, will investigate.
Not a fan of Merino.
Cashmere is nice but $$$.
Cotton doesn't keep me warm.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Uniqlo got lambswool in for $20 to 30, not sure about the colours, that orange one might be nice.

I'll be wearing the same ones as last year and the year before, Brooke's Bros Shetland Crews and Howlin' by Morrison , they gonna last 10 year at least.

The factory is just up the road from me so I pick some up in the factory sales a couple of times a year but I wouldn’t pay top whack for them as I don’t think they wash that well for the price. Had one from Zara that has washed loads better.

Re: Decent lambswool jumpers?

Uniqlo do lambswool as well. I always have to size up with them (Japanese innit, yeah?), but jumpers always seem to have a decent shelflife. Not bought one of their lambswool crew necks, but got a lambswool black cardie and it’s fine, keeps its shape, etc.

Could go for those of they were £50 cheaper or I wasn't  married with kids and a mortgage.

Good to see someone making stuff like that though, much better than this merino thin is better stuff.

Charity shops are full of dad woolens at the moment.  Happy hunting.
