Topic: Music for running or the gym

I thought there was already something on this but couldn't find it so apols for duplicating if there is. What are people's favourites for running or using the gym? I'm looking for some recommendations.

My usual suspects at the moment are:
Leftfield - Leftism.
Mogwai - Hardcore will never die....
LCD Soundsystem - First album (disc 2).
New Order - Music Complete.
Underworld - Barbara, Barbara we face a shining future.
The Stooges - Funhouse.
Talking Heads - Remain in Light.
Rival Consoles  -Persona.
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 1985-1992.

I like stuff that makes your head feel a bit off its tits when your're knackered and the endorphins kick in but am not into Goan Trance or owt.

I've never been into a gym. I reckon some West Coast early 70s vibe would accompany me if I ever did though.

Call me up in dreamland. Radio to me man.

There's a thought. I bet 'If I could only remember my name' by David Crosby would be good. Would deffo be good for a meandering walk.

Nice fat spliff before you set off ?

Owt by The Prodigy or anything with banging bpm's (not that ever run, or go to the gym)

Something pretty heavy to keep me going - think Killing Joke circa their Killing Joke album 2003

You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence is not an event - it is a habit.

I mix mine up for running, but usually keep these.

Diesel Power - Prodigy
Shot down in Flames - AC/DC
Plane going down - Gay Dad
Spring - Rammstein
Love Removal Machine - The Cult
Mother - Idles

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French p*rn.

Re: Music for running or the gym

I never listen to music while running outside or hiking especially in beautiful natural surroundings. Why get distracted?

As for the gym, your resident old fart would recommend:

Temptations, The Way You Do the Things You Do
Jackson Five, I Want You Back
Lionel Richie, All Night Long/Running Through The Night
Johnny Johnson & Bandwagon, Breaking Down The Walls of Heartache
Tommy James & Shondells, Mony Mony
Trammps, Disco Inferno
Spinners, Rubberband Man
Brian Poole & Tremeloes, Here Comes My Baby
Monkees, Daydream Believer
Petula Clark, Downtown
McCoys, Hang On Sloopy

Try 'em--you might like 'em!
