Topic: The Haunting of Hill House.

Another Netflix commission but worth chasing down.

It has been described by Stephen King as "close to a work of genius".  I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it is quite good.  It starts off with a few jump scares and looks to rely on childhood fears style stuff in the early episodes, but it ends up getting decidedly creepy and more cerebral.  All in all it's traditional Hammer style horror pulled into the modern world, and it works very well.

I'd give it 4 ghoulish apparitions out of 5.
