Topic: Winter Boots

What we saying fellas? Thinking of splashing out on a pair of Timberland Chukkas but the price tag is putting me off a bit. Are they worth the corn? Haven't bought a pair of daisies for time, want summat chunky. Recommendations?

Re: Winter Boots

Ive got some cheapo chukkas. Had to glue the sole but theyre still going. Not as good looking as the Tims or Red Wings but a good winter shoe when the weather is anti clarks. Every yearI try the Red Wings on then bottle at the price tag.

Re: Winter Boots

Timberland do loads of boots that aren't chukkas. I've had a pair for about ten years. I got these last year for the match and wistful walks along the shoreline. Not that chunky but fit like a glove and waterproof.

I think for first orders you get a discount for signing up for emails. Wait a month for the sales maybe.

Already have these in grey boots, super comfy, warm breathable, really stable (my knee is fucked, so helps)

Yeah. I've seen Blundstone homages by Red tape too.  Red Lake they calls em.

Re: Winter Boots

The sole is coming off my Asolo boots - a bit of a poor show after only 14 years of pretty constant wear smile

Just bought some Vasque ColdSpark winter boots - see how they go.  Seem comfy enough and I got them fairly cheap off eBay - Brand New in Box

Re: Winter Boots

For people who don't want to pay 250 for Red Wings 'Golden Fox' do these.  You can get them for about 100 including shipping from America. Chunkier than Red Wings and don't look as cool but very sturdy. Misura mentioned them last year. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/dZMAAOSwKtlWlC0h/s-l1600.jpg

I've also got some of these by Eastland called 'Lumber up' for about £100.

Still want some of these. Might go for it this winter. Seen some for 150 on Ebay.

Quite tempted. Had some Explorer Ridge boots by them for about 7 years and they very waterproof and comfy.

Re: Winter Boots

Can get the wedge sole  Red Wings for $175 here, not the fashion market ones the proper work ones. My Red Wings are 8 years old and going strong. Wear them for work, they're not a trendy style.
Those Alt bergs look the business.
Asolo not as good as they used to be.
I've got some Romanian made 'LL Bean leather hikers that are about five years old.
Brashers are hard to beat.
Bought some Timberland shoes the other day, they are not a patch on the last pair I bought which were not a patch on.... Which were not a patch on...
That said, my first pair cost £125 in 91.
This last pair cost $100 two weeks ago.

Same ones I just bought my sixth or seventh pair of. Nowhere near as well made Trav. The tongue is no longer all leather for instance.

Re: Winter Boots

Caved in and bought a pair of black Timberland chukkas this morning. No idea they came in half sizes. On the way out I was struck by a sudden thought and wheeled around, went back. Will these go down in price on Black Friday? They might do. If they do, come back and we'll refund you the difference, but you can't wear them outside. So here I am taking off me new boots and putting a pair of trainers on to go and walk the dog in the wet and pissing wild.

I got the Danners I posted before these, but would actually love a pair of these though, but they're a bit pricy for my liking.

They look ace on, but I aint paying $500 for boots..

If a bit avant-garde for your liking they do them in a Timberland and Redwings stylee too.

I had this pair for about 12 years, they were Timberland, but absolutely identical in make to these. Bloody great, just put some dubbin on them and they look like new every time. Highly recommended.
