Re: Podcasts

Truthfully. I read that and saw a snippet of a Foxton shoulder-shimmy and a Buckler straight-backed drum fill.

That's the start of twenty choruses.

Re: Podcasts

I've been listening to Joe Rogan recently, well since the mayweather v. mcgregor fight. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but he's interesting enough and acts as a gateway to a lot of things/people/ideas. From listening to him, i'm currently listening to jordan peterson and googling people that he name checks.

The Daniel Morgan murder, links, corrupt police to The Met, The Sun, Fake Sheikh and the Government.

Just got around to listening to this. Great storytelling and well executed (pun not intended). Nice one Smuttylips : )

Re: Podcasts

Not sure if this has it's own thread or not but I've just finished Dirty John a third recommendation from Cuts aka @teatoastanap Here are all three Podcast links.

Serial: https://serialpodcast.org/

The story of a young man in prison for killing his ex girlfriend in Baltimore, an intelligent boy who is erudite and engaging and interviewed extensively throughout the chapters. A who dunnit presented from all angles which tells each persons story and lets you draw your own conclusions.

S Town: https://stownpodcast.org/

True story of a reclusive bloke in Alabama and his sexuality, friendships, drug and alcohol abuse and rumoured murders and intrigue. An interesting and sad reflection of life in rural small town America.

Dirty John: http://www.latimes.com/projects/la-me-dirty-john/

Tale of a manipulative wrong un who squirms his way into a successful woman's life and eats away at her, her family and their relationships. Sad look into their wider family also.

All compelling listening as you get to hear the story unfold from the protagonists rather than from the narrators point of view like most stories or books. I know there maybe some leading of this by the lead narrator but ultimately it feels like story telling from the characters involved. Interesting medium.

Re: Podcasts

Enjoying the new series of , the magic sponge. Funny stories about nights out and personalities that the guest ex pros have played with. In first episode a couple of stories about fat Steve. We scraped the barrel there.

Re: Podcasts

On me travels at the moment. As much fun as it is outside of meetings and the odd bar there's not much conversation.

You need something for your mind. Books are hard given half of my time is queuing for taxis, passport control and customs.

So I've really been enjoining podcasts on this trip.

I have become that twat with massive headphones at the airport oblivious to everything.

Adam Buxton really grows on you. He's had some brilliant guests from all walks of life.

Scroobius Pip is a good one. Both Matt Berry's interviews are worth a listen.

Huey has one which is the same format. Good mates with Ricky Gervais, oddly. Just finished that one.

I found one called 'Those Two Brothers Are Not Related'. London rappers i think. Just caught a bit about them talking about the royal wedding.

I mentioned my mates football lower league journeymen interviews. Brilliant. Laugh out loud, bursting a gut funny. Got some proper weird looks on the plane.

Prutton gets covered and Lonergan in the last episode. Hilarious and quite insightful in the Chris Segdewick episode.

Tony Warners episode was just acemans. The Millwall cunt.

Re: Podcasts

Silly me. The rappers podcast is called 'Peak Times'.

Its Mike Skinner from The Streets.
