Re: One for the Road

That drummer is Al Green's drummer.

It's from the follow up album to that Come On Eileen period.

Got slated but now critics rate it.

Zico, here it is, the full album version.

When you get a bit of time, play it a few times:

Tell you what lad, you know your music... Tina Charles, Gloria G etc... love that myself.

But love loads of stuff, not posted any Jerry Lee Lewis yet, hardly a champion of the black man s cause, but fuck he can play that piano, saw him in London 18 months ago.

Saw this bloke too, talking strings and black, 15 years ago in Islington he carried this off without the guitarist.

Re: One for the Road

That McAlmont & Butler track is in my top five.

Heard it first during a real bad break up, the lyric 'Have you forgot/Whatever it was that you couldn't stand/About me, about me, about me...' had a certain resonance.

2002 World Cup, this was what the Brazas played before they went out for the game.

Fair play they won it, so what happened in 2006!

Quality, well I can live with it.

Zico, on the right of that Dexy's tune click on The Way You Look Tonight, turn it way up then read the top comment. One fucking take it is epic.

Well that was fun.

To be honest mate, when i`ve had a few beers I come on here and listen to my favourites and the one LS posted up is great.

For me

10,000 Mniacs
Carly Simon
Dexy`s
Aztec

Something really grabs you about Dexy`s isn`t there, now love, "This is what she`s like"....It`s like Wah, great stuff.

Anyway here`s one for Cutsyke, Promotion, pitch invasion special going out across "The Pond".

See my cut and paste still fucked. Money for beer not a new mouse. It's like A Town Called Malice in our gaff.

It's a seriously brilliant performance. Dexys were something else. I never realized at the time just how good they were.

Well that was fun.

I always loved this song.

Had tickets to see them early `80`s but after a sacking and a death, it all got cancelled

Mate was a big fan, lad had good taste.

Saw them live early `90`s good band, Natalie Merchant, needed a few nights out in Mirfield to loosen up, but I would.

This is the earliest clip i`ve ever seen, wait 2 mins in, at least `til she takes the hair band off.

"Hey Jack Karouac" great song. Remember her on whistle Test with blue dress and red tights. Sadly not on Youtube...........yet.

Headphones on, listening to In My Tribe on Spotify. The sun is shining in Southend and I'm catching a train back up North in 4 hours time. Is it wrong to be this relaxed at work?

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope

Tell you what, surprised at the people who actually were into the 10,000 Maniacs, a few might now download "In my Tribe".

Anyway, this morning I would like to present a little known band from Liverpool, who a few off here like. This is a favourite of mine and now on YouTube.

Gotta love a bit of 'Cowpunk'. Saw Green on Red at the Uni in the 80s, ears weren't right for days, loud!

She’s the main man in the office in the city and she treats me like I’m just another lackey, but I can put a tennis racket up against my face and pretend that I am Kendo Nagasaki...

Re: One for the Road

When it comes into albums, `80`s in Top 10.

In Life, Top 30

Fucking great, here`s a track, but the album is class.

Re: One for the Road

/\/\/\/\/\ one of my favourite songs of all time that cutsyke. Mate played it to me and I found it too difficult to get.

He then played it eight times on the bounce and I noticed every twist and turn, every sweeping string and every piano plonk. Seductive in large doses.

He's some lyricist that lad.

I recommend people getting into that song. And then the album that it contained.
