Still my favourite italian eating place, no fuss, no flash and decent food ( id add ricos up oakwood/roundhay as well).
Anniversary yesterday so started off in woodys, (i still hate headingley so top end is only place ill go) usual mix of studos who are not tits, test match watchers and liggers.
then on to three horse shoes (same mix) and down to salvos.
five min wait (it was ten oclock though) and then the meal (mine was the same as i always get, the international pizza, our lass got the fancy stuff but she dosnt write on here so just take it from me it was nice)
then back over the river to fall asleep

Used to do Salvo's a lot in the 70's, always top grub but one thing that put me off was a mate of mine's wife used to work on the till and she had a face like a roofers nailbag and it really did put you off your nosh. Still going after all these years tho' says something about the place. I think they inherited mate's wife from when it was the Brunch Grill.

Went tonight, it's still absolutely tip top.
Got there and secured a table. Then had to park miles away. Maitre'd remembered us and despite it being busy at telling other couples they'd be in for a 40 min wait we were straight it. Top lad.
Not the best table next to the kitchen but we saw all the grub coming out and it looked really good.
I had calves liver salad to start. Calves liver is one of my favourite things ever, and if honest this wasn't the best I've had. Slightly undercooked but it was still really really good. The salad, dressing and pancetta with it was ace.
Pizzas for mains. No complaints here. Far too much for one man to finish.
Ended with Gelato. Ice cream, fucking hell it's ace isn't it. I had a scoop each of coffee, hazelnut and vanilla. Absolutely delicious.
Really wobbled when the Grappa list landed en table. I was strong like bull and declined - it's bad tackle that grappa.
Bottle of wine, a peroni for me and an R.Whites for the SP and the bill was £68 for 3 courses. Good value considering the quality of food. Couple of waitresses would get a game, the others looked too yound. Christ am I getting old?
8/10.

Good to know that, always fancied going there but not the 45 minute wait for a table.

Went yesterday evening, the food was lovely and the staff great. A minor complaint, bloody uncomfortable chairs. 1 meat pasta main course, 1 pizza main course + drinks for £30 inc tip. I'll definitely be back, but I might bring my own cushion next time.
