Topic: Marr, McGee and Hook triple header

Over the past couple of weeks I've polished off;

Unknown Pleasures - Inside Joy Division Peter Hood
Creation Stories Riots, Raves and Running a Label - Alan McGee
Set The Boy Free - Johnny Marr

Hook is one bitter bassist, McGee namechecks a couple of ex-omj'ers in a positive manner (glam & jcig) and one not so positively (dhm) and Marr is the man i want to be.

First two are available in hmv for £5 combined, but save up your cash for Marr's book.

Re: Marr, McGee and Hook triple header

Does the McGee one have much on the early days The Loft, Pastels, Primals etc? He was over here with JCIG when I met them in Pianos. I just said alright, don't want him asking to kip on the sofa or owt daft on his next trip. Played some good tunes that no one danced to. Funny that about DHM as McGee put me on the J&MC guest list via DHM.

That's a bit Broadsword calling Danny Boy isn't it?

Yeah covers all that and mbv, house of love,  jamc & primals from the very  beginning. Its a decent read to be fair.

Code names.

Thanks I'll add that to the list. Understandable that Oasis are a massive part of the Creation story but they had some way better bands on the label.
