Topic: A Death in the Family - Karl Ove Knausgaard
Reading this at the moment and after reading Scootay's tale of being a kid with an older brother on the Crafty Cigarette thread thought it worth mentioning.
Its set in Norway, written by someone around our age and flits between reminiscing about his childhood, his relationship with his Dad in particular and his life now as a writer. Its the first book in a series of 5 about his life. Just reading a bit about him recalling how his older brother always seemed cooler than him and he looked up to him loads. Its very well written. Loads of good subjects get covered like coming of age, discovering music, lasses, drinking etc. Its translated from Norwegian but reads very well. I won't spoil it be telling you about the central event in the book but someone dies.
