First one superb, second one unreadable. Just my two cents.

I must admit the second one is tough going. Can't say why, but I just can't get through it, but I enjoy when I do.

Don';t want to give the game away but I think the ending and one of the running threads of the book is nothing to do with the story it appears to be telling and is more to diwth the author's own personal circumstances as a kid.

Finshed Tabloid and making a start on The Cold Six Thouand.

Really enjoyed Tabloid. He's good at keeping you refreshed on the twists and turns of the plot, and it all seems very plausable.

Tabloid - excellent.

6000 - less so. More of a slog for me.

Finished the trilogy last week. Blood's a Rover is a belter - better than the middle book and up there with the first. It's just seemed to have a consistent pace from start to finish. I didn't find that with the Cold Six Thousand.

Murder, political intrigue, sex an as usual great characters, language and a plot that zips along. A tour de force.
