Re: Beer of the day

Got given a box of 20 coors  light left over from a mates wedding last weekend. I'm 17 bottles deep with 3 to go. It tastes like a dogs dinner. Just listening to technique on vinyl. Bloody lovely x

Got pissed as a c*** on Modelo recently. Sometimes cheap beer does the job as well as some poncey gear.....

Not sure if this is a good deal or not (people here seemed to think it was) or whether this is decent ale but I know a few on here are partial to such delicacies

I suspect it is cheap because it has a short shelf-life left. In on-line stores, they're asking for £2.50 or more for a can.

It certainly hasn't been produced to cater for the cheaper end of the market - more for the hipster brigade.

But canned beer? This is not what we fought the real ale wars for!

A Watneys Party 7 anyone?

Re: Beer of the day

Those poncy can beers have a winning hand - they taste of something different, in the main.  The citrus fruit IPA's are fucking tremendous.

I parted with £3.25 for a can of Beaverton Bloody 'Ell Blood Orange IPA the other day.  It was cracking.  Don't tell the wife though, eh.

Rumbled. No doubt that a lot of very expensive beer sells on the back of 'clever' can design. I've wasted enough brass now to know who makes decent stuff and to work out what I like. Plenty of emperor's new clothes stuff with the whole 'craft ale' thing....

Re: Beer of the day

I love it - I think it is great - really freshened things up - real ale was getting staid - like it or hate these craft ales taste of something.

Couple of weeks ago when it was scorching I nipped out at night in the car for milk and bread. Parked up, walked straight past Morrisons, straight into Brexit Spoons and had a pint of Shipyard. Took thirty seconds, hit the spot and back to Morrisons, belching.

Re: Beer of the day

Looking good.

Have you had any New England IPA's other than that Adnams one?

I am on the hunt for that at present.

Also this site www.beer52.com - if you want to give it a go use the code 'believe' to get 8 cans for £2.99 - after that it is £24 a month for 8 cans - which is about the going rate.

You can either cancel or pause your account but have to ring them up to do so.
