These darkest days of the year being a time for the darkest brews too, I picked up the following in Wegman's (a New York based supermarket chain with branches in Pennsylvania):
Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout Lovely stuff. Amid the garlic almond IPAs and all the rest of the gimmicks, this is truly a back to basics number and imho in a class of its own.
Aroma:"toffee caramel with subtle chocolate notes"
Flavour: "complex and very smooth with a balance of roasted malt and sweet chocolate"
The label reads "200 Years in America", but can you get it in the UK? Or does "Export" really mean "export" only?
I'll be heading back to Wegman's for more.
