Did any one watch the tribute last night ? I taped it watched the 1st 3 songs & the last half hour I’ll catch the rest later .I thought they murdered the 1st song with the 3 singers [can’t remember what it was now ?

Seriously though, I really enjoyed it, especially his voice and the strings. I will be purchasing some Nick Drake.

Well it wasn't Nick Drake's voice but the string arrangements were great .If you enjoyed the tribute you should love the real thing .Not the disco groupSorry just realised you were on about the doc

Watched the documentary. Aside from some slightly annoying interviews with either very posh people or people who showed about as much emotion as a cyberman on heroin, i thought it was good. Sad of course too. I literally have heard maybe a few minutes of Drake's music before so after watching this I just think he had an ace voice and he wrote some lovely lyrics and made some fine music.

i took it from the programme that it probably wasn't suicide but accidental overdose. His sister Gabrielle (no sign of Kelly Monteith though) was very matter of fact about it and thinks he 'might' have killed himself deliberately OR he might have just taken a load of different tablets with the attitude 'Oh well, these might or might not kill me' which I thought was a bit weird for a sister to say about her beloved kid brother. Very middle class though weren't they?

Brilliant programme I thought.I thought of them as upper class, people who go to private schools. Do they call them private schools because the pupils have to show the teachers their privates? Listen to the Derek & Clive - I was watching wiggins playing with his willy, oooohh! :) Plus the size of their house. I am middleclass, normal housing estate, normal comprehensive & my house wasnt that fuckin big!But real good peice of telly though. I have got to get me a copy of pink moon. Sounded dead good.

Spot on. Pink Moon is my favourite album by him . The guitar playing is superb. Sounds like blues via middle England.

You can feel the country side & landscape in the sound.

I am getting that Syd Barrett & nick drake book for Xmas. The premise sounds great them two in London around the same time in the 70’s
