Raposa Harvest Walked. 25 miles in total. I know folk who have done it dozens of times. Once was enough for us.
Harvest Raposa Fair play. I know there are specific routes for this. The one we did today wasn't one of them.
Harvest Been out walking with the missus today and it was surprisingly pleasant. Walked up through the forest park at Otley Chevin then off on some little paths for a while. Went into Otley for a bit, had a pint, bit of scran by the river then home.
90Piesanhour Had a similar lovely walk along the canal from Skipton, up through Stirton and Thorlby and down through the posh Raikes estate. Nice.
fuzzy Walk from Ambleside up to Wansfell Pike then on to Wansfell yesterday. Highest Wainwright the kids have done yet. Visibility was shite high up but a good adventure nonetheless. Can't wake them up this morning.
Placid Enjoy it while it lasts, they're a coupe of years off laughing at you and calling you "cargo trouser wearing nonce" for suggetsting a walking trip.
fuzzy Placid I know. Not looking forward to that. Youngest already has attitude in buckets and is forever rolling her eyes at me.
CharlieG Of all the holidays we've had with our three, the ones that they always reminisce, fondly, about are the walking holidays in the Lakes and Wales. To the exclusion of foreign beach holidays. They will thank you for these times.
fuzzy Did a 7 mile circular in Langdale on Thursday up to Blea Rigg and across to Silver How. Great weather so ace views. Then went up Loughrigg from White Moss car park at Rydal on Saturday and past the caves on the way back . Four more Wainwright's in a week. Kids are getting a lot stronger now so gonna try and do loads this year before they get into the grumpy teenager phase.
Kevin_Stapleton One for @CharlieG: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/apr/11/hikers-high-on-magic-mushrooms-rescued-by-keswick-mountain-rescue
fuzzy Did 7 Wainwright peaks last week. Hallin Fell, Glenridding Dodd, Sheffield Pike, Gowbarrow Fell, Birkhouse Moor, Helm Crag and Gibson Knott. Some were pretty challenging for the kids. Weather was mental in the middle of the week. A few pics: Hallin Fell View from Sheffield Pike across to Catstycam with Helvellyn behind. Top of Birkhouse Moor the kids had a snowball fight with another kid who was up there. Weather got a bit on top as we got to the summit. Youngest was scared. Snow and icey wind blowing in your face. Spoke to a group of people on the way down and they said they were gonna go on to Striding Edge. No Crampons. One of them in selvedge jeans FFS. Just thought 'no you're not'. Helm Crag and Gibson Knott from Grasmere were lovely. Stunning views. One of Wordsworth's favourite walks apparently. The wordy get.
Placid fuzzy Top Dadding๐๐ Your kids will love the lakes, Wainright and walking for all their lives.
