Mcgregor was looking superb till he started a little showboating and lost concentration. That's a tough fucking sport and his lack of respect lost him the fight
not even sure its a sport. from what i've seen its like a bunch of cunts from the pub dressed up fancy kicking the shit out of someone else. Are there any rules?
Several rules. And to get anywhere in it these days you need to train in a number of disciplines, wrestling, striking of some sort, submission fighting etc. Most learn Brazilian Ju-Jitsu or a variant of it. Often they'll train in Muay Thai or similar. And a load of the good high school and college wrestlers in the US enter MMA. maybe it's not for you, that's fair enough, but there's a hell of a lot more to it than pub-fighting. Boxing is a fantastic sport. But decades of bullshit of one form or another are killing it. The one advantage of the UFC's near monopoly at the top level is that, to win, you have to fight decent people fairly early in your career. MMA has always seemed to be more forgiving of losing as well. I think MMA fighters know that the margins are that tight in a fight that you're likely to lose a few even in a decent career.
