I have no interest in trainers any more.

And this is from a lad who had a cabinet full and used to select which to wear based on the colour of the stripes and how they matched the rest of my get up. Man I was bad.

I have three pairs in the loft, to wear with shorts on holiday. Original pair of Montreals, a pair of blue Indoor Supers and a pair of table tennis.

I cannot see me buying a pair of trainers ever again in my lifetime.

For years I have always been a doc marten shoe man. But I bought a pair of Adidias Sambas a few months agao and quite like 'em. Just need to invest in an army style duffle coat sort of thingy to wear over my hoody (hood showing) and I've cracked that Manc look.

:lol:I still like trainers, have enough not to need to buy another pair for some time but as some of you might collect... well whatever floats your boats, Cornish pasties its appears :P , I'll carry on picking up the odd pair. I still like seeing a decent re-issue come out. Most are shite for sure but there's a moment of anticipation that i had at 14 when i wander into Size and see whats's new. Got a couple of weeks to buy anything new and then its game over for about 18 years :lol:

I'm not one of those weird f*ckers (aoplogies to those of you who were/are ) who look after their trainers or keep them in boxes... thats why i continue to buy them, I do wear them and dont just have a wank over a wall of Adidas boxes with polaroids sellotaped to the front of them. :lol:As for the clothes ... I've gone native, I don't give a ... well that's a lie, my Mrs owns a clothing store ;)

I just don't get the buzz from trainers anymore. Surprised you do Ted being in the game. 40+ blokes in trainers are like old birds in mini skirts a bit anachronistic or if you please mutton as lamb. You know when something just doesnt look right. When I go to the football and see all these 40-50 year old fellas in Adidas Dublin etc. Don't you all remember those old blokes in the 70's dressed as teddy boys hanging round the market or the local WMC. Complete with cheap Tom, beetle crushers, drape jackets and quiffs with massive bald patch. Thats what I think about todays middle aged "dressers". And the new breed the teenagers and kids coming through why dont they invent something themselves around it. I mean they need to be looking forward to new and exciting sub cultures. Thats what I like about it all. The fact you were into something most didnt really understand unless you were in the know. Well that's what I feel like. Mostly wear a pair of Clarks (not pasties), converse pumps or my LL Bean Moccason boots when the weather turns inclement. The Brashers come out when the snow and slush does. Although I'll have a shufty in Size this lunch time :) Blinded and confused by the walls of Adidas originals crowding my vision

There's been a lot of talk lately about how there's not been a true underground movement since acid house for the younger generation. Since the early nineties starting with Britpop every movement since then has been grabbed by the mainstream and sold to young people before they can discover it themselves.Raves were BAD says the Sun - Oasis vs Blur was ace as it was a sellable product.

I combated this by rotating 2 t shirts and 1 fleece for 6 months. Was a good look. So fucking tired I gave little thought to the finer things in life. Ted - you need some sort of pleather smock to handle the gip down the back. And the fountain of piss when changing his (if its a boy) nappy.

When I was typing my moan about trainers was going to put something about them always stinking. Glad I didnt and glad it got a nibble off Gore. Know I'm onto something when he roles out the Fake Tan gag.
