on FB........Hi, I'm Ruth Andys sister. I have had so many emails, phone calls, texts etc and would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart they have all meant so much. A lot of people are very shocked and confused (myself included) and have a lot of questions. I do not have all the answers but i wanted to share the information I have in the hope that it helps people with their feelings whatever they may be. I hope I dont upset anyone but one of my core principles in life is to be honest and open at all times and my gut tells me this is the right thing to do now. This is a factual post designed to inform of facts its deliberatly being done that way so i dont fall to bits whilst writing it.Andy died at home on or around Saturday the 29th of October. We do not know at this stage why he died as a cause of death cannot be established. We may know more in a few weeks or we may not find out until the inquest which will hopefully be held in January. Life is full of ups and downs and Andy was indeed going through a down phase but after reading his personal emails and notebook today I also know he was making plans for the future and was working hard to get back to an up phase. There is some speculation he may have taken his own life, all i can say on this is that the coroner has said that at this stage there is no evidence whatsoever that points us down this road. There are still questions and it will be some time before we have any answers. I dont care how he died i just wish he hadnt.Andy was indeed one of the good ones and he touched many many lives. I would hope at this dreadful time we all think about the happy Andy we all know and love and focus on our many happy memories rather than waste our energies on questions that will not be answered for a while. As this was such a shock funeral arrangments are slow in coming together not helped by the fact that I live in Andys native Yorkshire. The funeral will take place in London most likely week commencing the 14th of November and details will be posted on here as soon as we have them. Please accept my sincere thanks for all the emails/texts etc from everyone and i offer my condolences to all his friends, thank you for being part of his life and loving him too.
Extremely sad news. R.I.P Andrew.

Sad news, wore his heart on his sleeve and always hoped he'd come back on here, RIP
Poor lad. that's a shock. Never met him but liked him on here, and yes I'm aware how mad that will seem. Thanks for posting the FB stuff CB. All the best to friends and family.
Horrible. Only knew him online but top lad and he did something wonderful for me.Condolences to real world friends and family.

Top poster. Top bloke I am sure.'I fucking love colouring'.RIP.
That is just too sad - will remeber with fondness his inabilty to grasp why I wouldn't want to appear on Celebrity Scissorhands having my back and crack done on national tv
met him once, seemed a genuinely nice fella. Very sad indeed !! Rest in peace.
Can remember enjoying his off the wall humour when I first started looking at this site. Life's just a right cruel bitch for some people. Hope he's at peace now.
Man that is very, very sad news. Exchanged PMs and emails with him a few times as he'd been in New York. Think he had a slanted view of the world that struck a cord with my own sense of the absurd. Seemed, as much as you can discern from forums and a few emails, to be a very good chap with a finely tuned sense of humour. I guess after however many years of OMJs it was inevitable someone would pass away eventually.Thoughts and prayers go to his family. Will raise a glass in his honor this weekend. God bless.I FUCKING LOVE COLOURING!
Shocking news. God rest his soul. He loved this site, didn't he? Always remember that time he interviewed George Clooney in NYC and told him about OMJ. Hope he's found peace at last.
