zico Saxa, blast from the past. Always enjoyed watching him, must have been 50 when he was playing with The Beat.RIP
fulmine Yeah, he always looked like one of those brilliant grumpy old West Indian blokes who just want to be left alone to their Guinness and dominoes. First band I ever saw live, The Beat. Wakeling's still a bit of a dude, heard him interviewed on the radio recently.
90Piesanhour Cuts wroteNever really cared for The Beat that much but they've grown on me.?! One of the best ska bands, ever!
Reggie_Perrin CharlieG wroteKevin Garcia - bass player in Grandaddy, age 41, stroke. Fucking tragic, this.Hells bells. 41, ye gads. AM 180 is a sensational piece of music.

scootay Nearly crying this morning reading about Craig gill... his wife finding him after he'd hung himself.. awful stuff that. 20 years of unbearable tinnitus the cause. I was only talking with odd job about tinnitus on Saturday.. how we're lucky not to have it with the amount of gigs we get through..
Reggie_Perrin We never marked the passing of the great Leo Baxendale. Creator of many of our favourite comic characters as kids.
