Still Japan has one Meme from this time and that's to call someone a "yankee" which means you're a bit wide, a scally and a dickhead. This was due to the lads that dressed like Americans in order to "get ahead on the streets" (trans: not starve to death) by currying favour with the US forces after the war when Japan was occupied. Ironically these lads were mostly 2nd generation Koreans, but hey let's not hold that against them. These street gangs would eventually turn into what would be known as Yakuza and wound up owning half of Manhattan in the 80's, so they did okay for themselves.

This flag is everything most moderate people in Japan would like to forget, but then you have Abe's lot who are conservative and sick and tired of not having an army and being expected to apologise all the time. They'd have this flag back in an instance. They've learnt nothing at all and Trump could enable them to get this flag back once again..
