space Just saw a rumour reported that the Queen was dead. Had to check this thread to make sure it was false.
Anchor Yeah - bugger. Every now and then a death kinda stops you in your tracks - when I found out Stuart Adamson had killed himself I was gutted and I'm a bit gutted about Bob - he always struck me as a bit of cunt but solely for his exploits at Headingly in 81 he has always had a place in my affections. Only 70 as well - poor cunt.
Kevin_Stapleton Ah bugger. I love that interview he did after Headingley - still in the zone, royally pissed off. Dilley, Greig and now Willis - the last of the trio of cricketers whose run-ups were much loved by playground impressionists back in the day.
Anchor Ha ha ha - I used to love impersonating the most outrageous leave in Cricket. Fat Gatt. Jesus - can you imagine kids imperosnating cricketers now. Cheers sky.
Kevin_Stapleton Anchor Yeah I did some good impressions of the Gatting leave - unfortunately they were during games as an adult rather than in the playground. Even if kids knew their cricketers, are there any idiosyncratic actions around? It's probably coached out of them these days.
Reggie_Perrin How do MEPs defect bearing in mind they were elected under PR? Surely resignation is the order of the day.
zico Harvest Always had a lot of time for Ron Saunders. When I was a kid he got Villa promoted with Brian Little and Ray Graydon, they played exciting football whenever they were on the television. Graydon looked old enough to be your dad and that was back then. To go on and win the league with them and then walk out when they were in the European QF took some balls, although I dont think Ron had a good relationship with the board of directors wherever he went. It was his team that won the European Cup really. Managed that Birmingham City team that beat us in85 and got them promoted. Proper old school. RIP
space Mega_Armageddon_Chickens Juice WRLD. Just 21. That's only 63 in Rapper years. Still quite young.
Harvest Our cleaner at work. Really odd feeling when you speak to someone most days and one day they're just not there nor ever will be again. She went to the docs last week with a chest infection, diagnosed as pneumonia, died a couple of days later. Only 61. Poor lass. We're only here once.
