I remember the Hagler fight like it was yesterday, beer cans bouncing in the ring, Harry Carpenters commentary, as he was getting pelted with cans because of where he was sat and covered in ale. Great memories.

The thing I remember is the chants of Mintah in that London accent that you don't seem to hear anymore. To be fair he was very good but Hagler was very much better. I remember reading a piece in Boxing News by a journo who'd watched Hagler train saying he couldn't get to the bookies quick enough to lump on. I presume Minter regretted his comments about a black man taking his title. And Diana Rigg was indeed stunning

Just edited my post about that. As I remember he certainly did. Kaylor v Christie a good few years later was a cracking fight although I didn't like Kaylor at all and there was a nasty racial undercurrent to that one.

When I heard that she'd passed, I felt this cave open up in my guts. Diana Rigg is probably the perfect 10; she was gorgeous. Rarely do I feel real loss at someone's death but I do today. RIP a very special person.
