Cooley
Went to all 97/98 games other than Newcastle home. Had to to change wedding day due to work commitments. So, sat in The Bay at Robin Hood's Bay as the results came through. 4-1 Leeds, still think my friends regret it! The football, not the wedding. Maybe!

Cooley Hadn't seen him for years. Won't be doing at all, now. Seemed a decent enough bloke.

Jon

My dad’s best mate from when I was a kid died at the weekend. Dreading phoning his wife. I’ll make things worse. She’ll be a rock, lovely woman, and I’ll cry.

Travis_Bickle

Jon you won't make it worse. She'll take comfort from knowing the impact he had on you.

Jon When my dad died I had a quite a few chats with a close family friend (she was actually the daughter of Harry Reynolds but that is immeterial). My dad always respected her and her husband as they had stood by them.whem times got hard.

Anyway at my dad's funeral she got a bit self opinionated about the level of care mum was getting. But we kept in touch. She phoned me a few months after my dad's death when I was in Bulgaria to say she was off in hospital for a routine operation and she wouldn't be able to see my mum.for a few weeks. She died due to complications after surgery. I felt better I'd reached out to her though.

Jon

She was, as she always was, lovely. I started to cry but just about held it in. He was a wonderful man, devilment in his eyes. Life.

Cooley Sad that ,Mike Smith a genuine nice bloke. He took us for a training session, when I was at wrexham school boys. He paired up with me for a few drills. Did a classroom with us as well, about tryiing to give the man with the ball 2 options and angles. Stuff he said that day , stuck with me for ever.
My mum used to see him taking kit to borras laundrette, always nice , she said.
Did a good job as Wales manager.
RIP Mike Smith
