Loved him, great player. I like the reference to any decent Black Lad getting the nickname Pele in the 70s it was the ultimate compliment not a racist slur. One lad I knew could do a Cruyff turn and a shoulder charge in one movement, a joy to behold. Frank Worthington used to watch a video of Pele before going out on to the pitch and would feel unbeatable sometimes I would watch a bit of Grandstand,
Saint & Greavsie and try and do the same messing about on the park, it felt great to be like Pele. I love the story of the Scotland dressing room before the friendly in 1966, "who's going to mark Pele ? " ....deathly silence... Billy says" aww fuck it I'll do it" Pele still remembered it years later.
