I've read the references about 'before the crash' but have no idea when all of this started, who was in it from the beginning, who on here knew each other before writing on here. Who have been the historic MIA's. What's the history, quirky Wrexham section and all. I got told about the site by IQ who I had bumped into by coincidence in Brighton and then a bit later by BBL under the south stand at half time of some game or other whilst Para was having a rant about the Wild Boar chapter in the SC book. When I was first on here I was on a proper bender and had no clue really, and took a proper roasting from Cuts and Gore and Glam. Its a sort of second nature insignificant but much loved feature of life these days - could do with some fresh meat though

I joined in 2004/2005 but hardly posted till early 2007, it seemed to cliquey. Once the big fall out happened I got my feet wet more. I think it goes back much further, JCIG was here from the start.

I remember bumping into DHM in Soho and him telling me about it about a decade ago. A few of us are old Terrace Retro posters, at some point there was about 10 Leeds on there (TR), myself, Cuts, HJ or Captain as he was known, DHM, Ad, Dead Bloke, Last Waltz, Johnny Was... and then others who post/ed on here Glam, Bobby Collins (as much as he denies it), Not Now Cato, Junction Ultra, KW, LS and others Im sure. I guess this created a small group already.Used to post as Kaviar Gauche but not a lot as I actually used to work back then, but since moving to the back of beyond of culture it gives me a healthy dose (although not enough) of piss taking, God bless ya HJ :D

I was on the site for a bit pre-crash, remember it'd been going for ages at that point. I came in just in time for the cold v warm lamb debate, think the site had just sponsored a Leeds match and there was a photo-shop photo of all the posters in suits by a big OMJ banner. I spent many an evening reading the back catalogues of DrAl and his Sleepless in Crouch End posts. Back then there was no 'fresh meat' as such but as a newbie you had to log on to the site at a determined time and spend 60 minutes getting roasted with questions from the regulars, mainly KW and Deadbloke. Didn't see it as cliquey, saw it more like a tap-room I'd always been searching for but never found. Leeds fans who weren't idiots and obviously lads who had done alright or were switched on at least. Shot my mouth off a lot since then, but never been involved in any of the serious battles like the Cragwood injunction and the Regdafish SDP like break-away. In fact didn't really get any of that.. Met some of the posters, Deadly Doug in Tokyo, Old Codge, 2R's, DHM, Leeds Poet, ononon at the Vic, KW and Beastie at Elbow Rooms, then Duke of Barnham/Andreha at the quiz in London. Then lots of mates, new and old started joining. I used to be steaua bukkake which was my fantasy football team name that year

Must have met 15 or more off here, all good lads to a man. Even the one who got the royal hump when I turned up arseholed to get a match ticket.

'Quirky Wrexham section..', I've got a new name for the Firm!I think I read something about OMJ in the Guardian, then bumped into DHM who told me to have a look..That was pre-crash. I've met a good few off here, there's a growing contingent at Bardsey vets for a start, all stand-up blokes. There used to be a lot more Wrexham lads posting, including my brother, but he got put off by some sinister types who appeared briefly.I miss KW, he was good value.

I used to lurk on terrace retro, always an avid reader, although never signed up. The quality of posts was ok, although very clique & sometimes not as clever as it thought it was. TT was as poor on there, as he is on here. :D At the time it was more for information about trainer re-issues, clothes, etc. The quality of the site fell apart and turned into an osty/brimson baiting. OMJ was mentioned, so came to lurk here for a while. Impressed by intelligence, quality, characters and subjects, signed up & then all hell broke lose, and a load of posters left, womble, etc. Don't know anyone on here & never knowingly met anyone either.

Your brother was good, kept the geography teachers in check. :D

I can't beleive there was such a massive fall out and no fight, what a bunch of fucking posers. Joined in 2007, didn't delete any posts on the basis I couldn't be arsed and then all the intellectuals fucked off to new media. Met some, others know people in common from a long time ago and have known some for a long time ...eerrrm I think.Don't miss anyone, if they want to post - that's fine, if people don't - that's fine as well. I post as a self indugence and as a release and as long as it makes me laugh or its a wind up, great.I remain to be convinced that some of the earlier posters were real people, rather than alter egos or some rehersal for a therapy session, but who cares. Its just mindless banter where you can post shit of more than 140 characters.

I'm banned from Regdafish, took the piss out of Womble when Fulham lost the euro final. :D Some good lads on there too. I sat back and watched the fallout, didn't really know those involved well enough to poke my nose in. We've lost most to Twitter, you're all at it.

My first foray nto message boards was with Football365 in about 1996/7, well whenever it started. I also wrote some incomprehensible shit for To Elland Back in those days. Then I can't really remember much until Waccoe in '04. Waccoe moves fast but has far too many brainless twats on who are guaranteed to ruin any discussion. How did I find OMJ? I really have no idea but it was about 4 years ago, how time flies. I like OMJ as the members seem to be from a similar background and are unapologetically smart on the whole. I find a lot of younger folk these days seem proud of being thick and I just don't get it. I don't pretend to be a genius but I value intelligence and that's why I like it on here. It has got prickly in the past but that's men of a certain age for you. I've met a couple of posters, good lads both. Would I like to meet more, yeah, why not.Like Gore, I treat it as a 5 min diversion from work. 5 minutes every quarter of an hour that is. I guenuinely think it helps he stay sharp or less blunt.

I was holiday on a beach bored out of my mind and I read an article in a 2 week old newspaper which my girlfriend spotted about DHM and the Leeds sites he visited. If she could turn back time she would have never passed me the paper. Guaranteed.Gave it a go - pre the great crash and the Judean's Peoples Front incident.Didn't know anyone but met a fair few off here when sorting out tickets, the Doncaster Wembley Play Off final, in the Vic or at DHM's quiz.

It was Leeds Poet who kept telling me to join here, think it was about 2005 I joined and i felt like a newbie even then. Decided to miss the big Leeds OMJ event which is summat I regret, but I didn't know anyone at all then personally, so would have felt an even bigger and shyer cunt had I turned up :lol:Had a few regrettable fallouts on here but a sign of a good man is being able to apologise and/or repair the damage. Some omjers who I now regard as good good friends & allies (or should that be ginnels? :D ) here and abroad.Regdafish is a good site too, and wouldnt have happened were it not for here, and there are some splendid people on there too.

I just realised that i joined 4 years ago !!I post like i live my life ...i enjoy being in the background but will pipe up occasionally.I guess i'm at the younger end of the posters on here (40) but what i like about OMJ is it's maturity (on the whole) ..most football boards are like a chav text a thon....at least on here most of the cunts can spell.I found it through a reference on the Service Crew site.I don't know anybody on here and have no intention of changing that , just leave me to hang around in the shadows.

Met you Codge first in 2002 I think, we've had our ups and downs. :D Known the Poet since then too.Had met DHM at London meet ups way back and Tamsy told me to join then but I thought you were all N1 music journos.Waccoe was a different place in 2003 than now, made some good friends but things change. I was on the SQBall first, from 1999 on my shiny iMac. The forums gave us London lot a means to organise meet-ups and it went from there.
