Travis_Bickle I'd consider £500 on a Voodoo Masara. You want a rigid fork up front, more efficient and lighter than a cheap suspension fork. The Voodoo will let you ride over the park or football pitch, through a wood etc as well as do well on the road. Not sure where you are but the Giant range of hybrids are great value. Loads in your price range. The Escape 3 is £420 and gets good reviews for the money. Hybrid is a cross between a road and a mountain bike.
