York was the first rider from an English speaking country to have won the Mountains classification in the Tour de France. This success was the first time a British rider won a major Tour classification, and was unsurpassed as the highest Tour finish for a Briton until Bradley Wiggins was retrospectively placed third in the 2009 Tour de France. He is one of only five Britons to have won a Tour de France jersey competition along with Wiggins, Chris Froome, Mark Cavendish and Adam Yates. He rode the Tour de France eleven times completing the race eight times.Millar also achieved the highest finish by a Briton in the Giro d'Italia, finishing second in 1987 and also winning the King of the Mountains classification. As well as the Giro second-place finish, he finished second in two other Grand Tours: the 1985 and 1986 Vuelta a España. Millar was the first British rider to achieve three top three finishes in grand tours (an achievement only equalled when Wiggins was promoted to third in the 2009 Tour de France in 2012[1]). He was set to win the 1985 Vuelta before losing the leader's jersey on the penultimate stage due to collusion by the Spanish-speaking teams.Millar won the 1985 Volta a Catalunya, the 1989 Tour of Britain and the 1990 Dauphiné Libéré.Millar is known today as Philippa York.[2]She had transitioned sex while writing for cycling news and on July 6, 2017 revealed this and that she was taking a job in television.
Why is the co commentator on ITV4 referring to her as David rather than Phillipa??
Because David isn't Robert / Phillipa.

Took the Crush down to Swinley Forest early Saturday morning and did a couple of laps of their Blue Trail (intermediate) to test it out. It handled it all with consummate ease which is probably more than i didOnly niggles I have is with the grips (need something a bit spongier) and the fact it doesn't have a bottle holder. Think even I can manage to sort those little pains outTo be honest I didn't push it that hard as I just wanted to get used to it - the 10-speed thing will take some getting used to and i was left hanging on a few inclines and spinning on a couple of descents but I'm liking the simplicity of itLong weekend this coming weekend but will take it out on the Red Trail weekend after

First time on a bike for about 16 years. We hired a couple and did a trail up the coast from Novigrad for a few miles. Hot and dusty. On the way back called into a beach bar. Practically crawled in. Ice cold bottle of Pan beer, never touched the sides. Me and the lad sat there puffing out our cheeks, bright red, exhausted but happy.

I remember a bloke called Josh Bender in the early 00s doing massive cliff hucks out in Utah. I think he was at the first few Rampages. Dig out some of the helmet and chest cam stuff from some of the runs. You have to be wired up a certain way to be able to approach stuff that steep and narrow and just ride off it. Mental

Got out on Sunday. 46 miles here in France. Fucking beautiful. Went early. Sun just coming up. Coast road out of Frejus and then an easy-ish climb at L'Esteril. Off out again tomorrow or Thursday. Bit more climbing this time I think. I'll bore you all later....
