Great gesture. Respect due. I saw the Beautiful South in London about 20 years ago. Most boring gig, ever. The lass he used to sing with wasn't there, so he did all the vocals. Couldn't get out quick enough. The actual recordings are decent enough, though, and the album title: 'Hull 4 London 0' is still a belter.

Never thought I’d see the day when Heaton covered a Rainbow song, but here he is with Jacqui doing just that. And it works - very, very well. She reminds me of Kirsty in some ways. Lovely voice. No showboating. Good stuff.

I have this distinct memory of reading an interview in the NME and Heaton mentioned that he had been fighting with Arsenal (I think).

Something about his hands being bloodied? And mention of long fingernails.

There was also a travel journal of his that I happened upon, as a very young man.

Lot of hitchhiking, and an amazing memory for names of people and what he ate / drank / listened to.

Flaneur I vaguely remember an NME interview, he was sort of nursing his hand in the accompanying photo. Canvas trucker style jacket on? I was disappointed. Fighting at the football. You’re better than that young man.
