Tolley Kevin_Stapleton Gentlemen are required to wear a shirt and tie in the Directors' Lounge at Guiseley. Which strikes me as being rather over-dressed to have a drink in a Portakabin.
Zipper Kevin_Stapleton Sorry Kevin it was a piss take Cooley or wd may know, One of wrexham' s best players on recent time Gary Bennett was not allowed in the suite, he had no tie. It's pathetic
Cooley Zipper The only time I’ve seen a tie at the Racecourse is when a couple of the lads have just been to court.
white_dragon I can remember my dad ,who was a maintenance fitter , wearing a shirt and tie under his overalls late 60's early 70s.
Young_Marxist_at_Tescos Mentioned this elsewhere the other day. As recently as the 70s, plenty of blokes went to the match in collar and tie. Same with going to the pub of an evening. Industrial workers always made an effort in that department
Harvest Young_Marxist_at_Tescos My dad for one. Said it before on here, I remember him coming home from work on election day, having a wash and shave and then putting on a shirt and tie to walk up the road to vote. He'd then take it off when he got back. I think he saw it as a privilege to vote. Mad really but a good memory at the same time.
fulmine Flaneur Not sure actually mate, flyover/bridge in the background that you don’t get on Tottenham Court Road. Might be the Edgware Road.
Young_Marxist_at_Tescos white_dragon Have to say I’m impressed with the prototype dressers in polo necks and sports jackets. Give it 5 minutes, someone will be on here claiming they’re Scousers.
Zipper Cooley I'm sure the lady in the 3rd row approx is Mrs Dexter known as Mrs D Worked at the club for years making tea for the players at HT
Cooley Zipper I was hoping to see me dad in the pic. Alas….. Do clubs still have tea ladies? We’d probably have to call them Hot Beverage Administrator these days. God forbid one would use the word ‘lady’. Cunts. 😉
