Think that was the game where we scored, but the goal was disallowed because the ball came off a coppers leg and one of our players Lorimer??(Remember him complaining) put it in the net. The ref said the ball had gone out of play, but the copper could have been stood on the pitch.

zico Things like this are starting to scare me. I don’t remember the game at all. I don’t remember getting to the ground or getting home. I don’t remember the game at all.
I remember some big lump taking a swing at me outside and getting pushed to the ground by a Leeds fan, which saved me from getting cracked ( Eric from Bradford) and that’s it for the day.
It’s shite this getting old.

I arrived on the train from leeds which stopped before the station seem to remember running causing havoc thru a fun fair opposite the ground on some fields , that main stand was the closest and we went in there stood at the back , we were soon recognised as leeds and scuffles started it wasn’t until half time that we were all rounded up and taken to the leeds end , i was with lads from east leeds

I wouldn`t worry about it, lots of stuff merges into one for me. I don t know how many times I went to City and Blackburn in the 2nd division, but it always seemed dark and raining when we arrived at 2.30pm, not just when we were leaving. The fun fair at Huddersfield was always at Easter, but I was positive the photo above was from October 84, when we lost 1-0 and I thought Leslie Silver came on the pitch to try and calm things down.
hendersonjones is right though, it was Easter 84, ironically this popped up on my phone over the weekend, think it was the game Barnes equalised at the very end. Date is on the video.
Maybe the police got the truncheons out every time we went to Hudds, not just at Easter.

zico Blackburn was always fun especially if you went on the train. The transport police used to like to put the train in a siding and you were at the mercy of the kids chucking half charlies at you. Barnsley were twats as well. I got singled out by the police there only because I had a leather jacket on (my Ramones one of course) and because of that I met the description of someoen who had a knife.

I think the pic is from October 84 either the week before or the week after the Barnsley game.
I seem to remember a lad I knew making two consecutive appearances in the YEP after those games.
Or at least the swinging on the fence was in the autumn and I think so was Silver being on the pitch.

That s a relief, I knew I was at a game where Silver came on the pitch and I could be wrong, but I think he was wearing an overcoat, sheepskin??? which would be odd at the end of April.

The Lorimer goal was the autumn 84 game.
What's worrying for me is that I definitely went to the 2 2 Easter late Barnes goal game but I'm by no means certain I went to the autumn game. Except I can remember them playing that Elton John song Passenger at half time and everyone singing ' we're gonna go up'.
