Watched We're No Angels recently. DeNiro all facial expressions and Peen looking innocent. John C Riley about 50lbs lighter too. Good film, well written, (David Mammet) still laughed though I knew what was coming.

The Proposition - from 2005. Scripted and scored by Mr happy himself, Nick Cave. An excellent film despite being almost ruined by that mumbling wannabe Ray Winstone. When did he last make a film in which he was coherent? Not easy watching - outrageously violent but still thought provoking. Make Django look like a Teddy Bear's picnic (at Hanging rock?). Tarratino must have raped this for some of the stuff in Django and then made it humerous. There's not much to laugh at in this one.

Watched the new Sweeney film last night. It got better but I couldn't help wondering why full scale gunfights in busy London street with bystanders being killed was worth apprehending robbers. Winstone mumbles a lot these days too.
