Dunkirk; finally, on iPlayer. The aircraft scenes are balletic; floating, dipping and rising in an extraordinarily beautiful dance. Quite amazing.
The chaos, the fear, the loneliness and helplessness is depicted almost in silence interspersed with violence and death. They must have been terrified. Stuck on a beach surrounded on land, air and sea and nobody to help.
One thing though. I'm sure the army and navy people didn't mumble into their overcoats like this lot do. Mark Rylance and Murphy seemed able to enunciate to an acceptable degree. If the dialogue is important why can't you speak clearly? I had it up to full volume and Branagh was still unintelligible.
It's a class film though. I was impressed.
