Watched H Is For Hawk last night. The book was more than a bit heavy, the film deals with her grief in a more straightforward fashion choosing to leave out great sections of the book that told the story of an earlier attempt to train a hawk by T H White (I had to look that up, it’s been a while since I read it) and also lots of nature writing which might realistically not transfer easily to a film.
It’s not a feel good movie that’s for sure. As Eamon Dunphy might say, I thought it was good not great.
