Last night, to be honest. Velvet Buzzsaw. Actually pretty entertaining; awful art gallery types get involved in showing and selling some art by a psycho, with disastrous results. You know the sort of thing. Jake Gyllenhall plays a very camp art critic, which is a bit odd, but he does it well.

CBIT I was a bit disappointed tbh. Despite the dodgy barnet, Douglas put in a good performance. It was all a bit simplistic though: bloke hates his current life, goes on rampage. And that’s about it.
What I am finding is that 90’s films are now starting to feel dated. It just feels odd - the nineties wasn’t that long ago.
Anyway, I know what you’re after, and that’s the all-important Cooley 😎 Rating. Of course you are.
I give Falling Down 6.5 out of 10.

I tried watching it a while ago. 25 years ago it was shocking. Now it's like a news report.

Cooley I watched that when it came out in Times Square. A couple of quotable scenes but it's clichéd and not very subtle. The gang would have just killed him, the bum looks like a golf pro, the Korean shopkeeper us probably paying cunts rent to a white landlord who looks like Douglas and overall he's afforded way more understanding than a black fella would be (shut up, bang, dead) and the female roles are pathetic. Good to see Frederick Forest as the Nazi surplus store owner.

Reggie_Perrin Good actor, Forrest. He played a detective in a Ted Bundy film many years ago. Superb film, rarely shown these days.

Half an hour into "Mosul" on netflix. It's about a bunch of heavily armed police in Mosul fighting ISIS. It's brutal.
