Watched the 'Ali' biopic on iPlayer in a covid haze. Pretty good, with Will Smith playing a decent role, including the Ali shuffle.

Netflix is a bit quiet at the moment, so I’ve gone on over to YouTube and started watching some old films - those gritty British b&w dramas from half a century ago (and more). The kind of films I used to enjoy watching on a rainy afternoon when I was skiving off from school/college. Two I’ve seen thus far:

The Upturned Glass (1947) starring James Mason.
Never Let Go (1960) starring Peter Sellers.

We made some great films back then. Proper actors. Stars.

Reggie_Perrin one of my favourite films that.
Captures a time in the very late 60s superbly, and the generational gap.
Great characters (including a late teen, flirtatious Susan George) and scenery. Bolton/Farnworth.

James Mason had great screen presence.

Cooley There's a recurring fish in it! Great film.

Greyhound.

Tom Hanks manages to make a war film that's less than 2.5 hours long. It's OK. Plenty of historical inaccuracies but otherwise it's 90 minutes of nautical action.

3.5 sunken U Boats out of 5.

Watched 'Joker' on Netflix last night. Surprisingly entertaining. Joaquin played a good nutter.

doggybag Yeah. Great isn't it. Looks good, the sound is superb and both leads are at the top of their game.

Who Killed The KLF, not a bad watch actually, you forget how big they were, biggest selling band in the world at the time. They were bonkers and lost millions by just packing up. DHM was on it, sounds like he knew them quite well
