Placid Many of the sites are on Google Earth with planes in the images. Audacious that it was in the four corners of Russia and they were set off from within. Their drone teams and secret service division are playing a blinder. Can't be too long until they get to Putin himself. They've already blown up that oil refinery which was 20 minutes from his summer house. Wonder what happens when they get him?

SBU are playing a blinder alright. On the whole, Ukraine have properly fucked Russia despite losing territory.

Their war machine has been shown to be week, badly organised and lacking in skilled manpower.

Whatever happens, the West must be pretty pleased with how its turning out so far. Russia MASSIVELY weakened. EU appears to be more together, NATO has gained Sweden and Finland. The west have tested their weapons in a real battle enviornment.

Putin is screwed. This war has been a massive strategical blunder.

Ukraine are a new power in global politics now.

I can't figure Putin. He's got what he wants; Crimea and eastern Ukraine as a buffer. So why doesn't he agree a peace deal? Is his pride in mother Russia so brittle that he would accept a long term war so he can eventually, at huge cost, claim all of Ukraine? I know he despises Zelensky who has proven himself a far more able leader.
So maybe that's it. Kill Zelensky and I'll make peace. Man's a lunatic.

I watched the thing on Netflix about Catherine the Great, interesting. Russia has always been desperate for a warm water port, that drama was written 10 years ago about historical facts 250 years ago and Russia were then making a play for Crimea. Mad how they still are.

Anyway, this only ends if Putin gets offed Im afraid. I cant see him agreeing to any sort of peace with Zelensky's Ukraine.

Placid Don't forget the Crimean war in the 1850s when the Russians tried taking on Britain (charge of the Light Brigade, Florence Nightingale and all that bollocks), The Ottoman empire, France and Sardinia (not as bizarre as it seems - this was before Italy was created and Sardinia included Piedmont), over Ottoman influence in the area. They got their arses handed to them on a plate then and surrendered at another Treaty of Versallies as well.
