Brilliant gig. Great to meet you YMAT. Atmosphere was ace. It was lovely seeing Mick and John together on stage again. I really enjoyed John singing Miles Apart. One of my favourite songs by them. Comedy was class. The whole crowd sang back the final chorus and Mick stopped singing and just said "is right". Lots of daft spontaneous singing the brass instrumental from Meant to Be throughout the gig by the crowd. There were pissed people on my train home singing this still, the nanas. Mick seemed genuinely chuffed to bits from seeing the crowd reaction.
Also worth mentioning. At the very moment that YMAT and I clocked each other pretty much as soon as I got in there (I thought checking the trainers of bald blokes in glasses would take longer), Barry Sutton from the La's spoke to me about my tshirt and introduced himself. I honestly thought he was taking the piss because he looked too young and he asked me to get him a Guinness from the bar because it was card only and he only had cash. I told him he was looking well and he said "I'm fucked lad". Anyway, I went to be bar for him, he gave me the cash fair enough. I googled a recent picture of him on the way home and it was deffo him. Glad I got him his pint now 😂
