Saw the hollies with me mum. Surprising was a good evening. The two original old boys were pretty tidy musicians.

The new boys were very good. Glad I went. The air that I breathe & the brother song are crackers. Fair play to them .

I don’t like telling people what to do, but I see the Anchoress is playing the Brudenell tonight.

I recommend going to see her to my northern OMJ comrades. She is very good & perfect for a Sunday night.

Surprised she isn’t lauded more. Great presence, songs & voice.

Went to Liverpool University last night with the eldest to see her favourite band, Lovejoy.
They're very indie by numbers but do it pretty well. They came on to The Killing Moon which was a nice touch.
The support, Good Kid, were pretty much in the same vein.
The music didn't really matter, although I actually enjoyed it, it was seeing her going mental watching a live band. Completely lost in it. Smile a mile wide and singing every word.
Music is acemans.

It's great going to gigs with your kids. I took my lad to see Stevie Wonder in Hyde Park on the one year anniversary of his mum passing away.

It seemed to give him a kick-start.

I might have mentioned it before, but we took our son to see 'From the Jam' in Leeds a couple of years ago. He nearly freaked out. When we asked him what he thought of it he said it was 'like a religious experience'. Amen to that.

Piroshka are a sort of shoegazing supergroup … singer from Lush plus people from Elastica, Modern English , Stereolab and my mate Moose from Moose . Not sure if they’re any good mind
