Liam Gallagher & John Squire the Troxy the smoke . A long trip down for this, but good to catch up with an old mucker.
Well this was really good. First the band you could tell they were crack LA sessioners. The crowd was ok thankfully only a smattering of gammons lurching about. Mostly old music fans. Liam was in fine voice. Not a bum notice. Proper tearing the wallpaper off job. But this was about the repatriation of John Squire for me & that Stone Roses horror show. Fuck me what a player. He was superb. What a pleasure to have witnessed it. Why oh why haven’t we heard more than we have. Laziness I guess. But he is too good not to be doing music. Brilliant.
Even Liam broke & said they are very good aren’t they.
This was a brilliant night . I loved it.
I can play the Roses again.

Under-the-ground

Went to see the skids & from the jam doing all mod cons.

The skids were ace. Jobson is a great front man. But he has changed the line. Out go the two old duffers & the guitarists are busy with big country. The new foils are just standard. They do a good night.

From the jam less so. Bruce Foxton looks fucked. They had a person behind the amps with another bass. That is really sad. Foxton is/was a great player. It’s the lead singer for me. A bit of a cunt. I stayed for mod cons & went home.

Still better than staying in .

Fantastic gig last night to cheer me up after the Leeds debacle. Underworld played 2 x 1 hour 45 min sets with a 20 minute break inbetween. I have seen them four times before, but last night was probably the best. I'd stick some videos up, but I can't seem to do it.
