Love them or loathe, that guy garvey can fucking sing. Was good as they did a lot of earlier stuff and playing O2 was better than the first direct or MEN. Started off in archies, moot hall, becketts, then ending up down viaduct, queen's Court etc. Was packed for a Monday night. Feeling rough today though.

Friday's gig was FT with the full band, so a lot more lively than when I've seen him solo. I believe the correct classification is punk/folk! Supported by Skinny Lister who were good fun. Their singer's Dad came on stage to perform one of the songs, accompanied by chants of "Party George" which was pretty cool.

As I have a tenancy to quote lyrics, and have plenty painted on my walls at home;

"In a world that has decided

Sure that people of a younger age, say under 45, would say that dance music in all it's various forms, has had it's moments .

cordshoes Oh totally agree. The Prodigy were ace. Phoenix Fest 1994. Lovely. Punk and Two Tone were just two examples. I couldn’t be arsed going through the rest.

Loads of new music, from the 1000s of genres of metal to grime and drill. Some go mainstream, some don't. There's loads we're probably too old to have heard of. And that's no bad thing. I think it's the world that's changed. We don't just have 3 channels and a handful of radio stations. You can indulge your musical taste without the world knowing.

Yeah I heard it being explained on 6 Music. They just felt the irony was lost after Brexit and touring abroad just made new listeners probably think they were tits.

Loose_Lips Cheers - been re listeing to them. Just realised I only bougt the debut, the decline of Bristish sea Power, and I cant find that but I listened to Open Season and Do you like Rock Music - must have been illegal DL's.

Enjoying listening to them again.

It’s up to them, but if I had spent 20 years working hard to establish a band at that level, with a body of work like they’ve got, I wouldn’t like to think I’d “concede” part of the name for reasons I couldn’t control.

Young_Marxist_at_Tescos I agree with you. I think that the minority who would se it as a cop out or even herald it would be that - A minority.

I always thought the name was toungue in cheek and in line with the title of the debut.
