Mike_Jones Our family have history if pyrotechnic gardening. My grandad had a hedge that was harder to remove than he anticipated. Apparently, he syphoned off about a cup full of petrol from his Triumph Herold, lashed it on the offending hedge and lit it. It did the trick but took out most of the downwind neighbours hedge before the Beeston fire crew got there.

I LOVE gardening. Biggest regret in my life is not going into landscape gardening when I left school. Anyway a couple of years ago i decided to redo the bottom of the garden. It's on a slope and when we moved in to the new build in 2000 i flattened the bottom and built a retaining wall, pond etc.

The wall was becoming dangerous so time for a change.

First I unearthed a load of 3x2's - which are bloody heavy.

Then a bit of levelling off.

Seeing as a decent size skip is over £250 I bargaining on taking a few bags of rubble to the skip.

Ermm the skip isnt full yet lol

The end result is ok though I suppose.

Flaneur Composite decking - bloody hell no! That's really expensive. Just ordinary wooden stuff with about 5 coats of decking paint on it. Which probably would have worked out cheaper to buy the composite lol

Jon Yes i did just after we moved in and the first of my garden redesign schemes started.

And yes they are VERY heavy. Had to carry 30 of the buggers round to the front of the house
