Just home from a night in Whitelocks, The white swan and the Pit. Stayed 7 seconds in the Ship before leaving without purchasing any ale. Train back to York, delayed because of engineering works, that seemed to be a surprise to the driver - surely he must have known. 50 minute taxi queue before sharing a taxi home with a couple of carol singers.

Johannesburg Airport. Probably my last bit of civilisation for a week. Looking out of lounge window across runways and stuff. No creatures. Some people are ignorant cunts. You can see why whitey is not liked in Africa. Very different attitude out here. Cairo airport was chaos - loads of people hanging around the plane when it landed to pick the moneyed fur clad diplomats and bankers. Funny watching people's behaviour at the bar. Barman was great but punters were tossers. Very different attitude here. Passport controls folk - the girls were so laid back as to be almost horizontal. Several very uptight gadgers though. The japs and chinese are the worst. Absolutely no idea of how to behave in civilised society. Apart from the home counties mob. Which speaks for itself.
