Bod Ness Walk will be pretty this time of year. Get out to Channonry Point with the obsessives to see the Dolphins (you can pop into the Clootie Well on the way), Fort George is worth a look, Culloden good too.
Highland Folk Museum is great too and is free.
If you fancy a longer drive, Dornoch beach is beautiful and they have great cafes for lunch.
