I was down there one summer about 3 years ago and it was heaving, bars everywhere. The Shipwrights Arms by London Bridge station used to be good, but not been in there for years. Pilgrims Pizza right by Shipwrights Arms is quite good, (for a bite to eat) or was pre Covid. Met some friends two weeks ago at the Two Bridges on Tooley Street, which is fine if you want a midweek pub, where you want to sit down and have a beer away from the crowds, nothing flash.
This is a classic bit of film, which you will probably appreciate more after spending two months wandering along the South Bank. London 40 years ago.
